Characters, Applications, and Rules
- Rules, Guidelines, and OOC Frequently Asked Questions : The basics behind gameplay in
age_of_miracles. All players and prospective players are expected to be familiar with these, though most of the rules are pretty self-explanatory. - Taken Characters : All of the "played characters" in
age_of_miracles. This list does not include NPCs, but only characters who have individual journals. - NPC Characters : All of the "non-played characters" in
age_of_miracles. Most NPCs are played from the game's NPC journals, though a few are played from various PC journals. - PB (Played-By) List : All of the people who portray the characters in icons are here, including NPCs.
- Wanted Characters :
age_of_miracles is only accepting characters who are currently listed. Players may also request characters to be placed on this list. - Restricted Characters : Characters who have been arrested, killed, or otherwise banned, and are therefore unavailable for application.
- Application Guidelines and Holds : What the mods are looking for in an application, what we're not looking for, and what holds (if any) are placed on incoming applications. If applying, request to hold your character in a comment on this page.
- Application : The character application itself, with instructions on how we prefer to receive it.
- Player Contact Information & Friends List : All of the available contact information for the game's current players. The friend update button is also here, so you can quickly update your f-lists with the most up-to-date roster. (Friends-locked.)
Communities & Mod-Controlled Journals
In Character
age_of_miracles : Primary in-character community. Threads, logs, and narratives are posted here, all in third-person past tense. If a character sends a handwritten note or letter, or sends someone a package, that type of post is also included in this community.
aom_network : Designated for electronic communications between characters that aren't based on the journal network. This includes all e-mails, in-character IM conversations, cell phone messages. (However, live telephone calls should go in the main community.) The network community also includes posts from mutant-related websites, such as x-resistance.org and x-traordinary.org.
aom_flashbacks : Community for threads, logs, and narratives that happened in the significant past----either filling in a gap the game left out or happening prior to the game's start in January 2006.
aom_au : Scenarios happening in alternate universes. There have been several prompts for the AU community, whether it involves improbable sexual situations or building a new world with the same characters. The posts in this community have no bearing on the actual occurrences in
age_of_miracles.
miraculous_news : News articles from The New York Times, The Daily Bugle, The North Westchester Gazette, and other publications. To submit an article, e-mail it to oh.kaity@gmail.com, and the moderators will post it.
miraculous_npc : Mod-controlled NPCs (non-played characters). Some of them appear only once, some of them are recurring important characters. Players who have NPCs use the following NPC journals:
aom_npc_one,
aom_npc_two,
aom_npc_three,
aom_npc_four,
aom_npc_five,
aom_npc_six,
aom_npc_seven,
aom_npc_eight,
aom_npc_nine,
aom_npc_ten.
Out of Character
miraculous_mods : Moderator journal. Nearly all of the game's resources are posted here or in mod announcements to the OOC community.
miracles_ooc : Out-Of-Character community, for announcements, updates, and other discussions between players.
aom_lovin : Community designed to "spread love" -- posts show appreciation for other players' creativity, cleverness, humor, or dramatic skill. All-around feel-good kind of place.
IC Resources
- Game Premise : The basis behind the game, detailing the basic storyline and the history prior to the game's start.
- In-Game Frequently Asked Questions : Answers to a lot of logistical questions that you might have for your characters, regarding housing, jobs, salaries, driving distances between locations, et cetera. Reading the information on this page is very important for maintaining game continuity. If you have a question that isn't answered here, leave a comment on this page and it will be answered for you.
- Plot and Politics : Links to summaries of all logs and threads, plus a timeline of important game events divided up by plot arc. Plot arcs are also explained in more detail for those who need or want to catch up on past events.
- Locations and Hangouts : In order to keep game continuity, we have a list of places found within the game's various locations where your characters can congregate or make reference to. If you have a location to add, comment on the page and it will be reviewed by the mods, and added if approved.
- Slang, Technical Terms, and Mutant Lingo : Every subculture has its own slang, and mutants are no exception. This page has a list of all of the terms that have come up in
